system notifications for local agents

Bamboo has system(email) notifications feature for remote agents when it goes offline. However, there is none for local agents. Any recommendations to setup email notifications when a local agents goes offline?

You may want to just set up a cron job to check status and use send mail to send out notification as suggested in this posting:
