terminating user access

Cindy Sobus August 29, 2024

When terminating a user's Jira access, is removing all Product access and Groups sufficient?  Should the account also be set to Suspend access or Remove User?   Does it matter?

Hi @Cindy Sobus

If you remove all group memberships, the user will not use a license.

But then you have to execute all that.

By suspending or disabling a user all access is revoked, group membership will be retained, but that doesn't matter.

So it's up to you what choice you will make.

There is one exception if you use JSM and that user still needs to be able to raise issues, then you are required to remove the groups, as you can't suspend or disable the user.
