Hi

I see two kind of status in my jira ticket (see attached)

On the left side this is the workflow status.

I would like to remove the status on the right side which marked in yellow.

How can I do that?

Hello @Noa Tsruya

@Jerrold - Empyra 's answer is only partially correct.

That field is the Resolution field. The Resolution field is used to provide more context when you select a "Done" (green) status. For example:

Done - Won't Do

Done - Cancelled

Done - Resolved

The Resolution field should only be set when issues are transitioned to Done/green statuses. If the issues can be reopened (transitioned back to To Do/gray or In Progress/blue statuses) then the Resolution field needs to be cleared during those transitions.

The value in the Resolution field will automatically display in the area you indicated without needing to add the field to the Screen.

In fact, adding the field to the Screen is the wrong thing to do. When the field is added to the Screen, that makes the Resolution field editable on the Screen. However, one unique thing about the Resolution field is that if it is on a screen and editable then it is required to have a value. The field should only have a value when the issue is in a Done/green status. At all other times the field should be empty. But if the field is editable you are forced to fill it in. You can't leave the field empty.

So as @Jerrold - Empyra suggested you do need to remove the field from the screen so that it will no longer be editable.

In the Workflow for the issues in the project you also need to check that the field is automatically set in a Post Function when transition to the Done/green statuses or a Transition Screen is provided for the user to set it.

Post function example:

And in the Workflow make sure that the field is automatically cleared when transitioning to non-Done/green statuses.

Given that the field is already set in issues that are in a non-Done/green status, make the above changes first. Then transition each non-Done issue where the field has a value to a another non-Done status to clear the field.

Hi @Noa Tsruya

The second status  which you are seeing is a resolution  you can go to the screen configurations in the project settings and remove the Resolution field from the edit screen
