unable to create subtask

we have field called total GIK value in USD which is attached to issue type as grant(task) mandatory and when am trying to create subgrant(subtask) showing as total GIK value in USD required

Hi Srustith,

If I understand you correctly, the field is required for Tasks, but you don't want it to be required for sub-tasks. Is that correct? 

If so, you need to create a second Field Configuration for the Sub-task issue type in the Field Configuration Scheme that your project is using. Go to Settings > Issues > Field Configurations. 

You can copy the original Field Configuration, give it a different name and then make sure that field is marked as Optional. Add it to the scheme for the Sub-task issue type.
