Hi there
it appears that the v6.4 does not support the use of the DURING query? It could be that I am not constructing the query properly. Is there a stock of JQL queries available somewhere?
That function may have been added in versions later than 6.4. I don't remember when it was added, but it was within the last few years.
Thanks Dave, is there a stock of popular or most used JQL queries somewhere?

Not really. Usually searching Google using normal language works pretty well to find tips, though. A lot of the results will refer back to Community.
Dan Radigan wrote a good blog post that you might find helpful. We frequently refer clients to that page. The Advanced Searching documentation is quite good too. Unfortunately, it doesn't go back further than 7.3, though.
