watchers can't see issues

Addactis Support&Operations September 14, 2020

Good afternoon,

We are using a server version of Jira Service desk.

For internal needs, some workers need to have a read only access to issues. As far as I have understood, the watchers are fine for that purpose.

I have added manually some users in the list of watchers for some issues (the users are part of the Jira Service Desk role).

Unfortunatly, when the users are connecting to Jira Service Desk, they don't see any issue.

However, if I'm adding the users in the issues participant's list, the users are seeing the issues when connecting to Jira Service desk.

what should I check to have the watchers working correctly ?

Thanks for your hep.

Hi @Addactis Support&Operations ,

You need to give them project browse permission, only then are the able to see the issues within the JSD project. You might want to use participants instead of watchers. Watchers is used for informing users of changes to that particular issue.
