Did you mean:

weekly trend in status

Matt Schindel June 27, 2022

I'd like to create a report that has:

- one row for each task

- columns for the status as of this, week, last week, and two weeks ago

In this way I can see clearly if a task has progressed or anti-progressed each week.

Is this possible?

Hello @Matt Schindel

It's a very common case in the community! If you need to monitor the progress of tasks, you can try some add-ons. I like how Time in Status for Jira Cloud works.

It has 7 types of status reports and shows the time in status data on the grid, Gadget, or Charts view. So you can choose what fits your needs the best!

Also, it's free for use for teams up to 10 users.

It's developed by my team. Please let me know if you have any questions. Hope it helps

Thanks! I looked through the link you provided above and it’s not clear whether this accomplishes my intended use-case. Specifically, the screenshot above shows one status column for each task. My goal is to have multiple status columns for each task. Each status column should have the status as of a date (e.g., the monday of each week). In this way I can clearly see which statuses have changed over time. I like to do this because it allows me to see with clear, visual indicators which tasks have improved (were yellow now green) or declined (were green now yellow).

Is this possible with the time-in-status add-on?

Thanks,

Yes, it's possible just in a few clicks.

this add-on has a one-chart issue function, which shows all the detailed info about the issue.

here's how it looks like:

you can find more in the documentation

Hello @Matt Schindel , I am also looking for the same use case that you are intending to. Just wanted to know, did you get any success in it. If yes, can you share it & if not what alternative are you using for this?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Matt Schindel -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I do not believe there is such a report with out-of-the-box features.  Perhaps check the Atlassian Marketplace, looking for reports/dashboard gadgets that can show an issue's status over time.

And/or...pause and consider what problem are you trying to solve by doing this.  Depending upon how the team works (Scrum, Kanban, something else) stating this problem may help the community to offer other suggestions.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Matt Schindel

You can try Status Time Reports app developed by our team. It mainly provides reports and gadgets based on how much time passed in each status.

  • This app has a dynamic status grouping feature so that you can generate various valuable reports as as time in status, time in assignee, status entry dates and status counts, cycle time and lead time, average/sum reports by any field(e.g. average in progress time by project, average cycle time by issue creation month).
  • You can search issues by Project, Issue Type, Status, Assignee, Issue Creation/Resolution Date(and any other Date field) and JQL Query.
  • Status durations are calculated according to the working calendar you define. Once you enter your working calendar into the app, it takes your working schedule into account too. That is, "In Progress" time of an issue opened on Friday at 5 PM and closed on Monday at 9 AM, will be a few hours rather than 3 days.
  • You can set different duration formats.
  • You can export reports in CSV file format and open them in MS Excel.
  • You can also add this app as a gadget to your Jira dashboards and reach “Status Time” from Issue Detail page.
  • You can enable/disable access to Status Time reports&gadgets and Issue Detail page per project, users, groups or project role.

Here is the online demo link, you can see it in action and try without installing the app.

If you are looking for a free solution, you can try the limited version Status Time Free.

Note: If you are interested in cycle and lead time, you can have a look at the article below.

Hope it helps.
