We are planning for Jira migration, we choose to migrate from server to server.
Can you please let us know which migration will take less time 1)project migration 2)server to server migration and reason for it.
what are the risks involved in it both the ways?
Hi @Manisha Grandhi !
It really depends on many factors.....
- how organised (or unorganised) are your Jira instances
- the size of your instances, number of issues, attachments
- what and how much configs or data you have in your projects, do you have lot of duplicates of configs, missing items, missing references etc...
- do you want to migrate your servers or projects manually (human error)
- do you want to use a marketplace app to do this work for you
...and many others..
But if you want help and get your project migrations done more automatically, you can check https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211147/project-configurator-for-jira?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview app that does project migrations exactly.
Hope this helps.
