I would say that the Atlassian community you have found here is almost a dictionary definition of the word "community".
There's a load of people here who have something in common. We use Atlassian software, we talk to each other about doing that and we do it here on the online community and we do it in real life in the Community Events.
That is a completely accurate and horribly shallow definition.
We don't just do online Q&A. We don't just do local events. We talk. We've got chat rooms, questions, events, and and and... @Kat Warner pointed you at the best starting place, but don't assume that it's the only place - anything you do to reach out to other atlassian-related people is very very welcome.
