Hello @Darya Kolyvanova ,

If you want to get reports based on times when issues were flagged or not, I can recommend Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira which was built by our team at OBSS. It is available for Jira Server, Cloud, and Data Center.

Time in Status mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or each assignee

You can combine the time for multiple statuses to get metrics like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc.

Additionally, Time in Status has the Any Field Duration report that can do duration measurement for any issue field. If you are looking for Flagged/Unflagged dates to measure the duration of each issue's flag, this report is the exact solution for that.

For all numeric report types, you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. For example total in-progress time per customer or average resolution time per sprint, week, month, issuetype, request type, etc. The ability to group by parts of dates (year, month, week, day, hour) or sprints is particularly useful here since it allows you to compare different time periods or see the trend.

The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well. It supports both Company Managed and Team Managed projects for Jira Cloud.

Time in Status reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts. You can also get file exports and REST API access.

thanks ! what can be used so that just the time is not counted for the task? if there is no such possibility in jira, are there plugins?

Hello @Darya Kolyvanova

There are many different built-in reports and charts in Jira. Each measures times in a different var but as far as I know, none of them take the Flag field into account and none of them exclude "flagged" times from their measurements.

The plugin I mentioned above, Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira, is built by our team at OBSS. This plugin  (using the Any Field Duration report type) can report status times, flagged/non-flagged times, and even flagged/non-flagged times under each status separately.

The following video shows how Any Field Duration report type works. I am sure you will find the overall playlist to be helpful as well.

I suggest you give it a try. We'll be happy to help you with any questions you might have. You can reach our support team via https://pluginsupport.obss.com.tr/

hello @Darya Kolyvanova !

Using the flag allows teams to easily identify issues as blocked.

Setting or unsetting the flag can include a comment of the nature of the impediment.

Time is not suspended when using a flag.

The Jira Life podcast (put on by @Rodney Nissen and @Alex Ortiz ) recently talked about using the flag versus other ways of identifying blockers.  YouTube link follows:

Can you provide more details such as what time tracking mechanism you are using?  I don't think the out-of-the-box time tracking mechanism records time "on/off the clock".

Darya Kolyvanova August 3, 2023

metrics count the time spent on a task, I need to stop the time so that the system stops counting time for a while.

Darya Kolyvanova August 3, 2023

for example, the lead time metric

what can stop the time counting ?
