when will my trail email be elimianted from the system?

Hello, 

 

I tried creating an account with my work email, but at some point I did not followed an instruction and now I'm stuck with a trial account I cannot access. 

Afterwards I went ahead and created the account with my personal email address, but that is not very corporate of me. So I need to change the email address on my account to my work one, but is still tied to the trial account I previously created. Any suggestions on what I can do?

Hi @stephanie tackert ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community. 

If my understanding is correct, you now have 2 Atlassian Accounts

  • A 'trial' account you cannot access, associated the right email address (account1, emailA) 
  • A working account associated to the wrong email address (account2, emailB)

 

Now, if the problem is only that you cannot access account1, then you should be able to get a recovery link sent to emailA by following below steps: 

  1. Go to https://id.atlassian.com/login (make sure you are not already logged-in, or just use an incognito/private window)
  2. Click on "Cant' log in?", enter the email address of account #1 in the recovery form and click on "Send recovery link"
  3. Open the mailbox for emailA and in there you will have an email with a recovery link that will make you able to access your account as well as another link that will make you able to change the password (below the previous one)

 

In case you cannot use account1, and you really need to use emailA with account2, then you can follow the below steps in order to get this issue solved:

  1. Create a temporary email account using one of the many free services available on the Internet
  2. Go to https://id.atlassian.com/login (make sure you are not already logged-in, or just use an incognito/private window)
  3. Click on "Cant' log in?", enter the email address of account #1 in the recovery form and click on "Send recovery link"
  4. Open the mailbox for emailA, click on the link to access account1 and in there, once in the settings, change the email address associated to this account with the one created in the first step
  5. Log out id.atlassian.com and log-in again using account2 (the one you can access with no issues)
  6. Change the email address associated to account2 with the desired one (email1)

 

In case none of the above applies, please provide more details on what happened and what you are trying to achieve.
