Hi Vignesh,

It sounds like you're encountering an issue where modifying the state in the bug workflow is affecting your existing workflow as well. To avoid this unintended impact on your existing workflow, you need to create a separate workflow for bugs rather than modifying the existing workflow. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Duplicate the Existing Workflow (If similar workflow is needed with minimal change):
    • If you want the bug workflow to have similarities to your existing workflow, consider duplicating the existing workflow first. This way, you'll have a separate copy to work with for the bug workflow.
    • Configure the necessary changes such as changing initial workflow status from "Opened" to "Drafting".
  1. Associate the Bug Workflow with Bug Issue Type:
  • Navigate to "Project settings" > "Workflows".
  • Click on add New workflow.
  • Find the "Bug" issue type and associate it with the duplicated bug workflow you've created.
  1. Associate the Existing Workflow with Other Issue Types:
  • Make sure that the other issue types in your project are still associated with your existing workflow.

By following these steps, you will have a separate workflow for bugs that won't impact your existing workflow for other issue types.

Aamer

Hi @Vigneshwaran

You need to create a new state and add the create transition to the new state.

Some information.

If you rename a  state, this will effect all workflows where you use the state.

In cloud there are 2 options of projects

  • Team managed, it will effect the workflow in the project.
  • Company Managed all workflows using the same status will be affected on a name change
