why does the issue screen format change?

recently our users have commented that jira changed the layout of the issue screen, it gives an option to go back to the old view but it seems like it has to be done each  time. is there a way to make the old view format the default one?

Hi Jon,

Most likely you are presented with The new Jira issue view and you have an option to go back to the old view for that particular page.

If you want to switch to having the old view by default, please click on your avatar at the bottom-left corner, Personal Settings and then flip the switch under the Jira Labs section.

This setting is per-user only, so every user that wants to see the old issue view by default needs to flip this switch.
