Ever hit record on a longer video and suddenly forget everything you wanted to say? Or maybe you're preparing a product demo or a longer presentation and want it to feel a bit more polished—but still you? That’s where Speaker Notes in Loom come in. Check out this video from @Liz Novak
Speaker Notes are your secret weapon for recording videos with more confidence and clarity. Whether you're sharing specific data points, dates, or key talking points, Speaker Notes help you stay on track without sounding scripted. They’re especially helpful when:
You’re recording a longer video with multiple topics or sections
You need to remember important facts or data points
You want to sound natural but polished
Best of all? Your stay on topic and hit every note, all while keeping the human connection front and center. (Because you’re still you, even with notes!)
Use the Loom Desktop App – Speaker Notes are available only when using Loom’s desktop recorder.
Launch the Recorder – Once you’re set to record, you’ll see the Speaker Notes option on your recording panel.
Type in Your Notes – A little sticky note will pop up where you can add your talking points—things like reminders, data, and quotes.
Record Naturally – The notes stay visible only to you—they won't appear in your video, so you can glance at them while looking into the camera.
Remember – These aren’t a teleprompter. Think of them as your behind-the-scenes cue cards to keep you focused.
Have you tried Speaker Notes yet? How do you use them to improve your videos? Drop your favorite use cases, tips, or questions in the comments - we’d love to hear how you’re making your recordings shine 💡👇
