While I really do appreciate Loom, its reliance on relative dates is somewhat frustrating.
This is a problem elsewhere in the ecosystem, but much more apparent in Loom, since I can't find a real date anywhere.
Case in point: I used the Loom notetaker to record a call, and the recording date shows as "28 days ago." Now, to figure out when the call happened, I have to calculate the date rather than look at the call record to see the date. Also missing - the time of the call.
These are critical details. When it comes to recordings, real dates and times are EXTREMELY important.
I have to ask, honestly, when would a relative date EVER be a better choice?
Hi @Rob Horan
You’re right, Loom currently displays relative timestamps rather than absolute dates and times, trust me I do share your frustration! At the moment, there isn’t a built-in setting to switch to real (absolute) dates in Loom’s interface.
A couple of small workarounds that can help:
Hover over the relative date: in some browsers, this will show the full date and time as a tooltip.
Workspace admins can also export recordings data from the Admin Console > Content tab, which includes the exact recording timestamps.
You’re probably not the only one asking for this, in the meantime I can recommend raising an issue here: https://jira.atlassian.com/projects/LOOM/issues/LOOM-103?filter=allopenissues or voting for an existing one.
Good luck!
