Loom app for Mac – interface not showing up

Hey everyone~

Quick question about the Loom app for Mac (desktop version). Every time I start recording, the Loom interface disappears – which is normal. But before, I could just click on the Loom app again and it would stop the recording and bring the interface back. Now, that doesn’t work anymore. If I click the app, nothing happens. I have to use the shortcut keys to stop the recording.

Is this just me, or did something change in how the app works?

Also curious – how do you guys usually use Loom? Do you prefer the browser version over the desktop app? Is it more stable or easier to work with?

Hi @Vlad Zhigulin,

Have you checked which recording controls setting you’re using?

• If you selected "Hide while recording", you’ll get the behavior you’re seeing: the Loom interface disappears completely and clicking the app won’t bring it back.
• But if you switch to "Hide only in final video", the controls will stay visible during the recording.

My preference goes to the Mac app because I really like the speaker notes feature, it's super handy for recording intros or walkthroughs!
