Add linked issue key to a comment using Automation for Jira

I am creating a issue in our Dev project when a service desk goes through a transition. I want to add a comment to the service desk ticket letting them know which team it went to and the issue key.  The issues are linked. I am not having any luck adding the linked issue key into the comment.

I have tried all of the following -

{{issue.issuelinks.first.inwardIssue.key}}

{{issue.issuelinks.first.outwardIssue.key}}

{{issue.issuelinks.inwardIssue.key}}

my comment is added but where I have this nothing populates.

What do I need to use to add the linked issue key to the comment?

Thanks!

Jenifer

Hi Jenifer,

I'm Ilenice, from Automation for Jira support.

Thanks for your question :)

Well, if your DEV issue is created and linked to the SD through the same rule, you can use the {{createdIssue.key}} smart values to mention the DEV issue into a comment.

Please see this applied to an example rule:

I hope it helps!

Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Cheers,

Ilenice
