Assign Issue to a member of a group

Stephan_Mallmann January 9, 2019

Hi @ all,

I'm confused because in the description of the action "assign issue" is written that you can assign issue to a list of users which I can declare at the bottom OR to the members of a Group. Where I can set the group for that because in the User picker of these action I can choose only users, not groups.

best regards,

Stephan

Hi Stephan,

Nic is right and I can see where the confusion comes from here.

Currently, you can't assign groups in the assign action. You can add group members at create time, but you can't specify a group. We are tracking this improvement here: (you may need to view incognito)

The wording ("ein Mitglied einer liste oder grupp") is a little misleading as it suggests you can add a group. To be honest our German translation is not as good as it could be. We are just about to improve them so this shouldn't cause confusion in future.

Apologies about the confusion. Once we do ship this improvement, we will pop a notification to let you know!

Cheers,
John

Jira does not do "assign to a group", so I think the language is misleading.  What it means is that you can select a user from that group.
