Hi,

The company I work for are looking to potentially use this application.

I was wondering if we're able to automate what happens when new tickets are crated in terms of variables given?

e.g.

We raise a new ticket for a certain project, and you choose a type of ticket, e.g. environment creation.
You're asked to enter A few variables, one of which is the customer name.
The ticket is then created, and the body of the ticket is filled in like a template, so like;
Please create a new environment for: %CustomerName%

A sub-task would also be raised, requesting DNS configuration, e.g.;
Please create a DNS record for: %CustomerName%.URL.com

Like templates basically, we repeat many different types of tickets every day, so could do with a sort of template feature (unless this is already in JIRA, then please direct me!)

Hi Greg,

Yeah, this sounds like our sweet spot. Should take a minute or so to create a rule like:Screen Shot 2019-07-15 at 1.11.46 pm.png

For variable inputs we use "smart-values" which you can read about here: https://docs.automationforjira.com/using-issue-fields/use-smart-values.html

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Hello :)

This seems something you could easily achieve with Automation for Jira... and with little to no configuration at all.

I would advise you to simply start a trial and mess around. You'll be able to extend the trial if you need it.
