Automation for Jira to set a version description

I have the case where I want to set a default version description each time a new version is created.

I am using Automation for Jira plugin.

Could someone suggest me a way to do it?

Hi Oweis,

I'm afraid that it isn't possible to do this at the moment. You need an action to edit the Version which we don't have. We're already tracking an improvement for this at https://codebarrel.atlassian.net/browse/AUT-1335.

I'm afraid that there isn't any way to achieve this at the moment.

2.5 years later, that issue has been closed as a duplicate of [AUT-702] New Jira Actions to manage versions: add/edit version, increment version, archive old versions - Code Barrel JIRA (atlassian.net)

I just wanted to pipe in here because this is something we are trying to do, as well. I want my projects to set the description field a certain way when a new version is created.
