Best Practice when linking software objecttypes to server objecttypes (Test vs. Prod)
My system admin asked me what would be the best way to get this done as we need to link our servers that are test servers to their respective software/application. We also have to do the same for our Production servers.
I wanted to ask the community on what everyone else is doing.
1. Would you create a software object for the production environment and then another software object for the test environment? Then link the respective ones over to their respective servers?
2. Or Would you just create an attribute on the server object type which defines the server as a test or production server. Then only link it back to the corresponding software object?
Any other suggestions? Thank you for your input.
