Can we add some people as default watcher for some specific issue type under any project

Can we add some people as default watcher for some specific issue type under any project. Below is the scenario I am willing to achieve:

Whenever any defect is raised under any project then some users/set of users should get notification for same.

I tried adding this is post-function by choosing update custom field and added field value as "[~nidhi.sharma@addteq.com] " such that as soon as one ticket is getting created I should get added as default watcher and I should get notified for same.
