I was wondering if it would be possible to set up a post expiration date? Something like:
Unless a post is pinned/featured all posts are deleted one month after the last reply was made.
Thanks!
Hi Jessica,
There is currently no such functionality within Community Forums or within Confluence as far as I can tell. The feature you've described doesn't necessarily fit with the functionality of a forum - forums tend to have very few pinned or featured topics but very many more ordinary topics. Community Forums will not be looking to delete topics based on the fact that they have not been pinned - this could easily lead to a lot of topics being removed when they are still active or useful to users.
Despite this, I'd be interested in understanding your use case further and your experience with Community Forums. There may be alternative ways Forums could possibly be used to achieve your desired outcome.
If you'd be willing to discuss this further, please drop me an email at harta@adaptavist.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
Hessom
I'm not totally familiar with Community Forums. Does it represents topics and posts with pages and documents? (Some years ago, I trialed it, and this is what I vaguely remember.)
If so, then you can implement general content lifecycle checks on those with the Archiving Plugin! Your particular use case would translate to this rule:
archive this page if it was last updated 30+ days ago
This is absolutely doable, and as any comment will update the "age" of the page, it will work as expected.
Check out the docs and give it a trial.
