Connecting on-prem Jira to Power Bi server

We are using Power BI Connector Pro for Jira to import Jira data into Power BI. In order for Power Bi server to access Jira it requires to install a gateway connection ( we use Odata connection link and Basic authentication method). 

I would like to know if there is a best practice regarding connecting from a PowerBI Gateway to avoid scalability issues the OData approach will likely create. We have tens of Power BI reports and OData connections with tens of users and manually managing all connections and user credentials in the Manage Gateway is not scalable. 

Is there a better approach to get Jira data into Power Bi reports?
