Hi,

we're using this plugin and it's working really well at the moment of creating or updating a "database information" field. However, when using this same field to search we're really missing that the custom field doesn't show all possible values in a dropdown list style.

This makes it impossible to quickly search for specific values. Especially if the database list provides with lots of options.

Is this something that will be resolved?

thanks!

Jacques.

Hi Jacques,

We will try to implement this feature in a future release of the Database Custom Field plugin.

Thank you for your interest.

Kind Regards,

Alexandru

thanks!

Another issue with the database fields is that they can't be used (correctly) when trying to sort on their values in lists. Can that be looked into as well?

thanks!

Jacques.

Can you please detail this problem? Do you reffer to using sort by in the underlying query, or to sorting in issue navigator?

In both. I've tried sorting directly in the query and in the issue navigator (clicking on the column name). In neither case would it sort; It just remains in the same order as the list was before sorting it.

What version of Jira and Database Custom Field plugin are you using? Sorting in issue navigator was fixed in version 2.1.8 of the plugin: http://bugs.kepler-rominfo.com/browse/DBCF-39. You should try performing a re-index. Sorting sql results in a dbcf field of type select list using order by should work if the field doesn't have dynamic parameters.

OK! I had version 2.1.7 installed and upgraded now to the latest version (2.1.10). After reindexing all sorting seems to work.

Thanks for the help on this one!

It would be great to get the dropdown box when searching! ;)

Thanks Alexandru!
