Failure getting "Jira Misc Workflow Extension" working

So I want to do something that seems very common to me. I want to force data entry on some transitions and force fields to change on transitions. The plugin claimed to do it so I installed it and set the appropriate validator and post function

Went to try and it was able to move issues from start of workflow to end of workflow without entering anything.

Could use some direction even to a help resource for this plugin.

Really need the functionality as I am certain people will fail to enter the needed information without encuragement
