Hello Community,

we're currently evaluating Automation Toolbox for Jira (v1.0) on JSD 4.1.0. Our main use case would comprise sending certain e-mails for certain status changes. If I've understood the documentation correctly, this should be a fairly straightforward task:

  • Create a Field Changed Event
  • When the Issue Status field changes to the status wanted, launch action Send Email
  • Use the Default address configured in outgoing SMTP mail server configuration (works flawlessly with our normal mail queue).
  • Send to Users in field Reporter & Watchers
  • Execute action as current user

The current rule looks like this:

I've configured a sample rule with these steps, yet I'm not receiving any e-mails when my test cases transition to the status that should trigger the automation rule. I've already checked the Jira mail queue and I can only see the standard e-mail notifications that are sent by JSD by default. I also haven't found any way to check whether the automation rule has been triggered.

Could anyone please offer some suggestions for troubleshooting or weigh in whether I've forgotten an important step?

Thanks, Paul

I'd suggest adding an action to log information in the Audit Log for automation, if you're still having this issue.
