How create a daily listener script to assign a specific user to all issues returned in my JQL query

I have to assign all issues returned by an extensive JQL query to a specific user.  I have created the JQL query. Now I am researching how to add that query to a groovy script that will assign each issue returned by the JQL to a specific user.  The script will be a listener on the IssueCreated and IssueUpdated events.
