How do I allow editing of an embedded google doc?

I've successfully embedded a google doc using this addon but it is in read only mode.

I can edit it fine if I follow the link but that's a bit of hassle.

What could be wrong?

There is a pop-out option on the viewer to go to the Google Doc to edit it. That is the only method to edit, there's no in-place edit available.
