I recently added a plugin to the market place. The plugin needs an additional programm to be installed on the server that hosts JIRA.
So the general installation instructions at the plugin details page are not complete for my plugin. So how and where can I change the text?
Custom installation instructions for plugins are not supported at this time.
@Daniel Wester [Wittified]'s suggestions are pretty good. You want to make add-on installation as automatic and foolproof as possible.

There used to be an option to do it but it disappeared a bit ago. I believe it was removed due to the UPM and users being able to install things directly from the product.
You might have a check on the configuration/getting started page which checks for the additional program and if it's not available then tell the user how to install it.
