How do I ensure a custom field is included in the results of my query?

I am running a JQL of all issues under a certain project via the Cloud Add-on for sheets. I would like to include data from a custom field we have on all tickets "Epic Link." I can download a CSV of all fields and copy/paste that into my Google sheet, but I would like it to be an included field every time I run the JQL.

Hi Kristen,

I understand that you're using the Google Sheets addon for Jira Cloud and want to be sure that your custom field is always included.   When using the Export to CSV (current fields) and the Google Sheets add-on export, both of these are only pulling from the fields that are currently displayed in the issue navigator.  As such you would need to make sure that your field appears in the search results.  Here is a screenshot to explain how to do this:

You can go to your issue navigator, I choose advanced search, and then the first red box there is to make sure you are using List view (not detail view), second box is the columns, you and click here to choose which columns to include.  In the third box I checked to make sure that the Epic Link field is included here.  This way any JQL search I make on this page, will return that field in the results.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you run into any problems with this.

Andy
