How does PLANTUML salt diagrams work without "illegal argument exception"?

I am using the current version of PLANTUML 6.14. PLANTUML diagrams work fine in Confluence.

Whenever I try to create a salt type diagram, the output is a JAVA exception that starts with illegalArgumentException. I tried many variants of the code and could not get it to work. How do I enter a tree diagram correctly in PLANTUML?

Here is what I currently try (macro parameter type=salt instead of type=plantuml):
