Import References in Insight CSV Import, not getting expected results

Neil Isenor January 11, 2019

Hey there,

I have an established user list in insight, and I've been trying to import Computers and have the user be referenced by the hardware. I have set up the attribute on the "Desktop Computer" object, the CSV has a list of usernames under the "UserInfo" header, and so in the import I am setting the Data Locator as "UserInfo", and the Insight Attribute as "Owner" which is the attribute name of the reference. In the Object Mapping I've tried a million things, but I believe based on the documentation that "User Key" = ${UserInfo} should work, as "User Key" is the attribute that should be matching with the "UserInfo" DataLocatorbut it doesn't. After the import when the "Desktop Computer" objects have the Owner attribute populated, it's a user, but each computer is showing the same user, and it's not the correct one obviously.

I've been all through https://documentation.riada.io/display/ICV50/Import+Concept+-+Object+Type+Reference

Thank you

Updating Insight was the solution to my issue after submitting my ticket in the Riada Support Portal and getting help from them.

Hi Neil.

Can you please raise this issue as a Ticket in our Support Portal: https://portal.riada.io ?

We would like to see your CSV file and screenshots of the Object Types and Import configuration, in order to point out why this is not working as expected.

Kind regards,

Yinon
