Each mathinline macro appears as it should in the preview but not on the saved page. On the saved page it gets a whole line to itself. much like the mathdisplay macro only left-centered (Confluence 4.3)
I have never been able to get mathinline to work, even without whitespace. I also always get "much like the mathdisplay macro only left-centered"
I am using the wysiwyg macro, and this seems to cause problems. By default, inline is selected with the "newline" option as default (bad default). When I switch to "display inline", it appears to put the correct text (e.g. "\( \frac{K}{H} \)"), but it inserts a newline before it!

Temporary solution seems to be to avoid whitespace around the macro

I think the whitespaces in question may have been copy-paste remnants of a newline (shift+enter in Word). Still getting some weird & inconsistent behavour from this macro though wrt newlines ... maybe the lesson learned is not to attempt a rich-text paste?
