Is there a way to use the --format cucumber option

I need to create a pdf or html page from the features/scenarios.

Cucumber offers the option --format to produce this kind of documents.
Is there a way to use this option either by a button in jira or as configuration of the maven plugin?

This feature is currently planned for the 2.1 release and the ETA is up to 2 months.

As a tempory work around it possible to use the builds tools (maven plugin, rake task, etc ...) and then run cucumber or cucumber-jvm with the correct formatter (--format) and use the --dry-run option to avoid cucumber executing any tests.
