Hello,
I'm working in an environment where customers are logging JIRA tickets when they have a problem or a specific need.
When a ticket is received by my company, the service delivery manager creates has many subtasks as necessary and attributes all of them to different developers in the company.
At any moment the customer can log into JIRA and see the status of the ticket. That's usefull.
My problem is that customer can also view the different subtasks. We would like to keep the subtasks confidential for internal use only.
The customer shouldn't be able to see the subtasks.
I have no idea on how to manage that.
Can you help me please?
(I'm working with JIRA 7.2.0 and scriptrunner. I'm not allowed to install any plugin)
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Germain.
Sub-tasks take on the security level (i.e. visibility) of their parent.
You can't hide the sub-tasks independently of the parent issue. You will need to create secondary issues, so that one issue remains hidden and contains the sub-tasks and a second issue remains visible to the customer users.
IF however, you have Jira Service Desk, then the request remains visible to the user, but with the underlying Jira issue not visible to them, so you can do what you want in there without exposing anything you don't want them to see.
Hi Nic,
Thanks for your answer. Even if it's a really bad news for me.
I will negotiate with management for JIRA service desk.
If anybody has another solution do not hesitate!
Thanks Nic.
Regards,
Germain.
