Ivan is quite correct here. However, Scriptrunner does have an integration with Automation for Jira as per link below so you can have the best of both worlds if you wish and run scripts using Automation for Jira.

If you have Scriptrunner, you don't really need Automation addon to run scripts. If you want to run a script on some event then you simply configure it as a script listener. If you want to run it periodically on a shedule then configure it as a service. And as far as various conditions go, you can specify all of them within your code.
