I think this is a must have feature of Jira. It seem Atlassian has bought it? Why this is not included in the base installation of jira? 

And why it is not supported. It is still working with Jira 8.7, so why the compatibility matrix will not be maintained.

Please update to Jira 8.7.x!

BTW: Is the source code available? Then we can maintain it by our own.

I second this. Since this is an Atlassian owned application, it is expected that the compatibility matrix would at least be updated to the latest version of Jira. Jira is now currently on 8.8.1, with 8.9.0 expected to drop in the next month or so. 

This should be included by default in Jira, but since it is not, at least an update to the matrix would be a simple fix (I'm sure a developer has 5 minutes available to perform this update).
