Not able to use Smartvalue in JQL Condition

I am not able to use a smartvalue in Condition JQL, yet documentation states it ought to be possible

I want to test whether a customfield has been set, if not it should not execute the advanced setting with JSON from parent in the Edit Issue action as this would end up in a parsing error

Issue has been resolved

use compare condition to check if customfield equals empty.

also other functions can/have to be used when dealing with date strings

also make sure when checking if a certain condition is true, that true is written in lower-case, "true" is not equal to "TRUE"or "True"
