Clicking Update Now! Does nothing. All it does is add a # to the end of the url when clicking it.

issues.spindleservices.com/plugins/servlet/upm -> issues.spindleservices.com/plugins/servlet/upm#

Hey,

the UPM had some issue in the past but is running very stable lately. Just download and install it manually and in place upgrading in the future should be no problem...

It looks like you're running into https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-28343. A manual plugin install will resolve this.
