Hello,
If you are using the data center version of JSM Assets you can hide an attribute. This would hide the attribute from the User level role while Manager and Developer roles will still see it.
(The cloud version doesn't have this feature yet.)

Thank You! What is the difference as far as permissions for the Manager and Developer? Can the User role Add and Edit records?

Hello,
Here are the 3 roles of an Assets Object Schema in summary:
User: Can view and download the objects.
Developer: In addition to User role, this role allows the user to create, update and delete objects and their attribute values.
Manager: In addition to Developer role, this role grants the permission to create, update and delete Object Types, Attributes (relationships)
In this case, as an example, you could:
- Assign the Users role to your Service Desk team
- Assign the Developer role to your Infrastructure operations team
- Assign the Manager role to your CMDB Admin / Asset Manager / Configuration Manager in your organization
