Can't delete task in Jira BigPicture/don't have permission to remove task

This is the error message I get when I try to delete a task in BigPicture. I click the recycle bin/trash can button and this message pops up. Any suggestions on how to either change my permissions to allow for deleting tasks or a work around?

I have created a new Big Gantt for a project that I am working on and have added a number of Jira tasks.  I then added another basic task from another project by accident and I am unable to delete this task.  I understand where I went wrong, but I am unable to delete this other external project task from my new plan.  I get the error message "At least one task is not removable. Verify permissions".  How can delete this task without affecting the other external programme.

My CB Project has a high level task, which is the project header, followed by subtasks.  The HHEP task was inserted by accident into my CB Plan.  It is the header title from another plan and has multiple subtasks underneath of it, but I cannot delete/unlink it, as it doesn't appear in y HHEP Project as a task, only a header.

That problem may be caused by the incorrect scope definition. Please share with me a screenshot of Automatic rules from Box Configuration >> Tasks >> Scope definition. See my image below.

Hi Anna.  We have now changed the automatic rules to task type = issue.  It was set to project and issue.  Having done this, the issue from another project has now disappeared.  Thank you for your help with this one.

Yes, disabling a 'Project' in the Issue Type definition line is one of the options. However, if you want to keep 'Projects' in your structure, you can simply remove HHEP Project from a scope.

Hi Arnoldo,

If it's a regular task, then it might be related to your delete task permissions. You can verify this in your Jira Project Settings, sections Permissions and User and Roles.

If it's a project, version, component or sprint task than this can't be simply deleted on a Gantt chart. In this case, go to Program Configuration >> Synchronization and remove one of the synchronizers from the Task Types section.
