Both fields are of the same type (text field <255 char). Field A contains static text and field B contains a URL. When applying the workflow post function to "add" field A value to field B it fails and log shows no errors. When selected to "replace" field B value with field A, it works. Any ideas what could be the problem?
The plugin that enables this feature is jira misc workflow extensions (version 2.5.4)
Jira standalone (version 5.1.4)
Hi Marko,
Tested and it is working really well on my side where the text will overwrite the url text field. Perhaps you may want to double check the configuration in the workflow transition again?
Hi tecken,
Yes, it works when the option to "replace" is chosen. But I need it to work, so it adds field A value to field B, in addition to the URL that is already there. If you test, can you get it to work like this as well?

Hi Marko,
Did you meant the "Add source value(s) to destination field " checkbox?

indeed, it seems to work only for "multi-valued" fields. Do you know if it is even possible to get field A value added to another field with already existing value?

I'm afraid I can't find any of available plugin can did that at the moment. Not sure if the copy field from the groovy runner can help with that(it specified multi - text): https://jamieechlin.atlassian.net/wiki/display/GRV/Built-In+Scripts#Built-InScripts-CopyCustomFieldValues
Otherwise, perhaps writing some javascript that would help? :(

Hi - I'm trying to overwrite 2 date fields - I created a pick date and during a transition, wanted to have the Due date populate on a post from the pick date field but not working. Do date fields work?
