I’m trying to understand the functionality around moving tasks.

Let’s say my Gantt has 2 tasks that are linked.

Task A – Belongs to team X

Task B – Belongs to team Y

B can’t start before A (and the dependency was set)

The Scenario: A has a delay

If X team leader delays the task in Jira (via board and / or via Gantt), what happens to Task B?

  • Moves accordingly both in Gantt and in Y team leader board (meaning team leader X basically changes Y’s plan)
  • Moved only in Gantt? If yes, how does the PM or the Y team leader know B needs to move?
  • Other?

yes, i, very new to Jira and Biggantt :)

Hi @Uri Shani

Please note that there are multiple factors that may influence the tool's behavior in this scenario (task modes, ASAP mode in the link, etc.), hence, it is impossible to provide a universal answer to this.

In order to make it clearer, I encourage you to get acquainted with the wiki page related to Task Dependencies. It covers all factors that impact the influence of one task on another.

I rest at your disposal if you have any further questions regarding this.
