Field mandatory based on Group membership?

Is there a plugin that can make a field mandatory based on whether the current user is in a particular group or not? Would Behaviours do the job?

Darryl. Using the behaviours plugin, you can set the field required as mandatory when the current user belongs to a certaing group, and to a [set of] specific workflow transition(s)

Yeah it can do that, but a scripted validator is probably simpler if this is your only need for the behaviours plugin.

A validator can only tell you something is required after you hit submit, which is a bit annoying, but maybe no big deal.

Other plugins probably can do this particular task.
