We are evaluating the demo version of the Gantt Chart plugin. When I create a new task, it does not get added to the chart automatically. I have to force it by going to the admin section and cliekcing on the "regenerating the planning dates" button. Re-scheduling is enabled for this project. Is there any way to have the charts updated automatically when new tasks are added?
After talking with the developer, I realized that you have to add the Planned Start and End date fields to the Create/Edit Issue screen and then fill those out for each issue. After that, the issues are added automatically to the chart.
Does it work properly within your envrionment after full/complete configuration?

Hi Gus,
not knowing anything about your environement, I assume you have installed JIRA Agile - formerly named Greenhopper - and not enabled individual planning of issues: please click on the "config" button on the top right of the Gantt-Chart, select tab "Greenhopper" and enable the following option
Sprint dates: (X) use individual issues planning dates instead of sprint start/end date.
Otherwise, you can contact me per email at frank@polscheit.de and provide me with additional information about your infrastructure and local configurations.
Regards,
Frank

Sorry, we have not installed Agile. But I did notice this message in the log file afterwards:
