If JQL Aliases were introduced to JIRA Cloud to get around limitations, why aren't the predefined aliases available in JIRA Server as well? This lack of parity between the two makes migrations very difficult.
Hi Travis,
JQL functions are available in Server, but aliases aren't. We introduced aliases in Cloud because there was not a way to do functions at the time (they are now available in Cloud).
We are looking to implement this in Server possibly at a later date. In the meantime, you may want to review this article on doing custom JQL functions: https://scriptrunner.adaptavist.com/latest/jira/custom-jql-functions.html
Please let us know if we can help clarify anything else.
Kind regards,
Katy
