How do I add tasks to Gantt BigPicture?

Hello,

I create a Jira task in Gantt Big Picture to project1, however a message says: This task does not belong to the filter this Gantt is based on, so it was not added to this Gantt.

So, how do I make the task show in this Gantt chart?

I have create two Gantt BigPicture Programs and then would like project1 to have tasks added and sub-tasks.

Thank you for the reply.

I'm a Jira and BigPicture noob.

I'm coming from Gantt charts where I create the task and a sub-task.

In BigPicture, I create a task and just need it to show.

I then figured out I have to create a project in Jira, which I did.

I then create another task in BigPicture, select the jira project1, but no task showing in Gantt?

I then tried the Scope management thingy and added Project1 into the Project field, however the Save button is greyed out.

go into the settings for the program, then go to scope definition, and then you have to get the task into one of those objects (the board, the filter, or the project  - those are all JIRA constructs, not BigPicture).  Remember, BigPicture is just a front-end over JIRA.  The issues have to come from JIRA.
