I have a custom field (Field Type: User Picker (single user))
I am trying to set that field with a value from Assignee field, when ticket goes into "In Progress" stage.
I am able to trigger the rule as needed, but cannot find a way to copy the Assignee into custom field.
The final goal would be to create rules that will auto assign reopen ticket to an original developer by setting Assignee with value from Developer (customer field) when ticket is reopen.

You can do this by using the smart value for the assignee.
You rule should look something like:
The value you should enter into the user field is:
{{issue.assignee}}

Do I need a "Pro" version for it? I have only basic version of the add-on.
