How to set empty value for 'ListOfStrings'?

I need to check if 'ListOfStrings' variable is empty. How can I do this?

'ListOfStrings' = "" - does not work.

Edit: Even though im not quite sure what you want to do (and where you want to do it) just a quick heads up: programming languages usually use "==" instead of "=" to make comparisons.
